PHB and MAM Announce Final Income Distribution for the year ended 30 September 2020 for AHB

Kuala Lumpur, 7 October 2020 – Pelaburan Hartanah Berhad (PHB) and Maybank Asset Management Sdn. Bhd. (MAM) are pleased to announce the second and final income distribution of Amanah Hartanah Bumiputera (AHB) of 2.40 sen a unit for the financial year ended 30 September 2020. This income distribution is in respect of 6-month period from 1 April 2020 to 30 September 2020. This consists of income distribution of 2.25 sen a unit and a bonus distribution of 0.15 sen a unit. The bonus income is distributable for the first 500,000 units held by the unit holders.

“The second 6-month period which ended on 30 September 2020, has been a challenging period due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the Movement Control Order (MCO). Despite the challenges, we are of the view that the 2.40 sen a unit or an annualised basis of slightly less than 5%, is still a competitive return for the 6-month period between April and September 2020”, said PHB’s Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Dato’ Mahmud Fauzi Muda.

He added, “During this period, PHB has allocated approximately RM32 million for its “Rent Relief Program”, to assist tenants impacted by the MCO. Reliefs in the form of rental waiver and deferment were given to tenants as part of our response to Government’s call to assist businesses”.

Earlier in April 2020, PHB and MAM had announced AHB interim income distribution of 2.30 sen a unit with a bonus distribution of 0.30 sen a unit for the six-month period ended 31 March 2020. This brings the total income distribution to 5.00 sen a unit, or a total distribution of RM188.05 million for the 12-month period ended 30 September 2020.

The final income distribution of AHB is tax exempted and payable net of zakat, which will be credited directly into the unit holder’s bank account on 15 October 2020. For Employees Provident Fund (EPF) Member’s Investment Scheme, it will be credited into Account 1 of EPF.

AHB is a fixed-price shariah-compliant real estate backed unit trust fund. The minimum entry investment for individual investors is RM100. The Fund is designed to cater for investors looking for a platform that generates regular income and potentially consistent returns similar to saving opportunities.

PHB is the sponsor of AHB while MAM is the Fund Manager.
