Goh Keat Jin was appointment as Chief Executive Officer of Maybank Asset Management Singapore on 1 June 2017.
Keat Jin possesses diverse work experience in the financial industry. His career began as an actuarial consultant in Scottish Widows Life and Pension Fund before he moved on to IDEA as a technical analyst for the forex and bond markets. He then pursued a career in the equities space in research, sales and account management with stints at various regional stockbrokers and European investment banks.
He joined the Maybank group in 2011 and served at Maybank Kim Eng (MKE) as the Regional Head of Institutional Equities where he played an instrumental role in the integration of Maybank Investment Bank-Kim Eng Group and the development of MKE’s institutional equities business. He was appointed the Regional Head of International Business in 2015. In this role, he identified new business opportunities and continued to build MKE’s equities client base especially in the non-ASEAN markets.
In 2016, Keat Jin joined Maybank’s Financial Institutions Group (FIG) and was appointed the Managing Director for Non-Bank Financial Institutions. His key duties include the formulation of business strategy and development of FIG client relationships.
He has a Bachelor of Science (Actuarial Science) (First Class Honours) from London School of Economics, UK. He is also a certified Chartered Financial Analyst (US).
Azlina has over 17 years of legal and compliance experience in financial institutions and regulatory boards. Her extensive legal experience includes heading the Corporate Affairs Department which consists of the Legal Unit, the Secretarial Unit and Quality Management Unit for RHB Units Trusts. She went on to lead the Legal, Compliance & Secretarial department of ING Funds Berhad and was instrumental in setting up the funds back in 2003. After that, she headed the asset management Group Compliance Department at CIMB Principal and held other key roles such as the Secretariat for the Principal Financial Group’s Risk Management Committee for CIMB-Principal Islamic Asset Management Berhad and also managed the compliance department of subsidiaries in Southeast Asia region within the CIMB Group.
Her regulatory experience began at Securities Commission Malaysia where she had a pivotal role in managing the Authorisation and Licensing Department for securities, derivatives and fund management including venture capital management corporation and all other regulated activities. Her role also included assessing licensing applications, monitoring of compliance with licensing requirements as well as formulation and implementation of new policies to enhance the efficiency and competitive edge of the Malaysian capital market. At CTOS, Malaysia's leading Credit Reporting Agency, she headed the legal, regulatory and compliance audit team where she manages the main regulators such as Registrar of Credit Reporting Agencies under the Ministry of Finance, Bank Negara Malaysia, Companies Commission of Malaysia and Commissioner of Personal Data Protection Act.
She holds a LLB (Hons) degree from Manchester Metropolitan University, UK and was admitted to the Malaysian Bar in 1997.
Boon Guan joined Maybank Asset Management Singapore in December 2013. Prior to joining, he was the Director of Product Management at BNP Securities Services Asia for 2 years. Before BNP, he was the Director of Group Product Management team under Standard Chartered Bank's Securities Services business for 4.5 years. One of the key objective under the product management role is to develop the system infrastructure and operating model for the Fund Services product.
He has over 16 years of experience including his tenures in fund services operations at HSBC Securities Services and BNY Mellon where he was the Head of Fund Services Operation. He holds a BA in Business Accounting from Oxford Brookes University.
Melissa has over 13 years' experience in the funds management industry covering product, business development and management. She has worked with global financial institutions such as Deutsche Asset Management and Citibank in Sydney covering product development for over seven years. More recently, she worked with Franklin Templeton Investments in Singapore in business development and strategy.
She graduated with an MBA from Melbourne Business School, a Bachelor of Accountancy from the National University of Singapore and is a CFA charterholder.
